Terms of Use
These terms explain how you may use Stay Near Universal UK, what our accommodation directory does, and the responsibilities of advertisers, property owners and visitors.
1. Who we are
Stay Near Universal UK is an independent accommodation directory and advertising platform operated by Project Universal. The website helps accommodation providers advertise places to stay near the Universal UK development and helps visitors discover those listings.
Stay Near Universal UK is not affiliated with Universal Studios, Universal Destinations & Experiences, Comcast, NBCUniversal, or any related company, brand, rights holder or corporate entity.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By using this website, creating an account, submitting a listing, contacting an accommodation provider, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the website.
3. Our role as an advertising platform
Stay Near Universal UK provides advertising, directory and listing services only. We do not own, operate, inspect, manage, endorse or control the hotels, B&Bs, private rentals, holiday lets, rooms or other accommodation advertised on the website.
Unless we clearly state otherwise in writing, we are not a booking agent, travel agent, tour operator, landlord, property manager, hotel operator, payment agent or party to any agreement between you and an accommodation provider. If you decide to book, rent, visit or use accommodation, you deal directly with the relevant accommodation provider or advert owner.
4. Listings and advert accuracy
Accommodation providers and advert owners are responsible for the information they submit, including prices, availability, descriptions, images, amenities, distances, suitability, contact details, policies and any claims made in their adverts.
We ask advertisers to provide accurate and lawful information and we may review, edit, suspend or remove listings where we consider it appropriate. However, we do not guarantee that every advert is complete, current, accurate, available, lawful or suitable for your needs.
If you believe a listing is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful or out of date, please contact the advert owner first where appropriate. You can also tell us using the contact page so we can review the listing.
5. Bookings, payments and disputes
Any booking, payment, deposit, cancellation, refund, contract, stay, check-in arrangement, damage issue, safety issue or dispute relating to accommodation is between you and the accommodation provider. You should check the provider's own terms, policies and identity before making any booking or payment.
We are not responsible for losses, costs, claims, disputes, cancellations, overbookings, inaccurate availability, failed payments, property condition, service standards, personal injury, damage, theft, or any other issue arising from your dealings with an accommodation provider, except where the law says we cannot exclude or limit responsibility.
6. Provider responsibilities
If you create an account or submit a listing, you must make sure the information you provide is accurate, lawful, not misleading and kept up to date. You must have the right to advertise the property and to use any images, text, trade names, logos or other content you upload.
You are responsible for complying with laws and regulations that apply to your accommodation, including consumer protection, planning, licensing, tax, health and safety, fire safety, insurance, equality, data protection and advertising rules.
7. Visitor responsibilities
You should make your own checks before relying on a listing or making a booking. This may include checking the provider's identity, location, terms, total price, cancellation policy, suitability, insurance position, accessibility and safety arrangements.
You must not misuse the website, submit false information, attempt to interfere with the service, scrape the website without permission, send spam, or use the website for unlawful, abusive or misleading activity.
8. Moderation and removal of content
We may refuse, edit, suspend, remove or restrict listings, accounts, messages or other content where we reasonably believe this is needed to protect users, comply with law, prevent misuse, maintain quality, enforce these terms or manage the website.
If you believe content on the website is unlawful, misleading, infringes rights or otherwise breaches these terms, please report it through the contact page. We will review reports and take action where we consider it appropriate.
9. Availability of the website
We aim to keep the website available and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend, withdraw or restrict any part of the website at any time, including for maintenance, security, legal, operational or commercial reasons.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to that, Stay Near Universal UK and Project Universal are not responsible for accommodation provider acts or omissions, advert inaccuracies, third-party websites, bookings, payments, stays, cancellations, losses of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, indirect loss, consequential loss, or losses arising from reliance on listing information.
11. Intellectual property
The website design, branding, text, layout, software and other materials created by us belong to us or our licensors. Advertisers keep responsibility for the content they submit, but grant us permission to use, display, resize, edit for formatting, promote and distribute that content in connection with the website and related Project Universal channels.
12. Privacy and cookies
Our use of cookies is explained in our Cookie Policy. We only use personal information as needed to operate the website, provide accounts and listings, respond to enquiries, maintain security and comply with legal obligations.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown on this page is the current version. If you continue to use the website after changes are published, you will be treated as accepting the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you may also have mandatory rights under the laws of the country where you live that cannot be taken away by these terms.
