What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage or browser identifiers, can also store or access information on your device. Under UK and EU rules, we must tell you clearly about these technologies and ask for your consent before using cookies that are not strictly necessary.
How we use cookies
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary cookies | Used to keep the website secure, remember your session when you sign in, protect forms, remember your cookie choice, and provide services you request. | These are required for the website to work and are used without optional consent. |
| Analytics cookies | Used only if you accept analytics cookies. They help us understand which pages are used, how the website performs, and where improvements are needed. | Optional. Analytics stays off unless you choose to accept it. |
| First-party server analytics | Records limited request and usage information on our server so we can produce statistics, protect the service and improve it. Before optional analytics consent, guest measurement uses a short-lived rotating hash rather than a persistent analytics identifier. | This does not store or read an optional analytics cookie before consent. You may object to this first-party processing through our contact page. Rejecting optional analytics separately prevents consent-only tools such as Google Analytics from loading. |
Cookies and storage we use

pu_stay_visitor |
Optional analytics | Provides a random first-party identifier for consented analytics. For a signed-in user, it may also support authenticated service security and continuity. | Up to 180 days. |
| Local browser storage | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie preference and, when you use them, saved properties, recently viewed properties and comparison choices on this device. | Until you reset the relevant choice or clear browser storage. |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Security / strictly necessary | Helps protect account, listing and contact forms from automated abuse. | Set by Cloudflare as needed for security checks. |
| Google Analytics | Optional analytics | Measures website usage if you accept analytics cookies. We configure analytics without advertising personalisation and with IP anonymisation where supported. | Set by Google, usually for up to 2 years depending on the cookie. |
Google Analytics commonly uses cookies beginning _ga, including a property-specific
_ga_... cookie. The exact cookies may change as Google updates its service. No Google
Analytics script or cookie is requested by us unless you accept optional analytics.
Your choice
You will be shown a privacy banner with an accept and reject option unless this browser already has a saved choice. Rejecting optional analytics does not stop you from using the website. If you reject it, we will store that choice so we do not keep asking you.
You can change your choice at any time using the button below. You can also delete cookies or block cookies in your browser settings, although blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop account, form or security features from working correctly.
Third parties
Some services we use may set or read cookies when they are needed to provide the service. This includes Cloudflare Turnstile for form security and Google Analytics if you accept analytics. These providers may process data outside the UK or European Economic Area under their own privacy and transfer arrangements.
Future advertising
We do not currently use Google AdSense or place advertising cookies. Before enabling AdSense, we will update this policy and our Privacy Policy with the advertising technologies, vendors and purposes in use. We will also introduce the required advertising controls and, for the UK, EEA and Switzerland, a Google-certified consent management platform where required. This policy does not ask you to consent to future advertising.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website, analytics, security tools or legal requirements change. This version was last updated on 30 July 2026.
